When it comes to enjoying steak, these Steak Sliders are pleasing to the whole family. They are CKD friendly and also a meat entree that the whole family will enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cups onion, chopped
  • 2 cups green pepper, chopped
  • 8 ounces flat iron steak, sliced thin and cut into 1 in pieces
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp ground garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 12 pack of sweet bread buns
  • 6 slices of provolone cheese (4 ounces total)
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400'F
  2. In a large pan, heat oil and add onions and green peppers. Cook over medium high heat, until peppers and onions are soft. You can stir occasionally.
  3. Add black pepper, garlic and vinegar to a bowl with steak and stir. Let sit for about 5 minutes while onions and peppers cook.
  4. Add shaved steak slices into pan with onions and peppers. Cook until steak is no longer red and ingredients are evenly mixed. Set aside.
  5. Slice the sweet rolls in half horizontally, while keeping the 12 pack of buns intact. Add a piece of parchment paper to the cooking sheet then place buns onto a baking sheet.
  6. Spread the cooked steak mixture over the bottom half of the buns, evenly.
  7. Top with cheese slices and the top half of the buns.
  8. In a small bowl, mix together melted butter and Italian seasoning. Brush butter mixture over the top of the buns.
  9. Place sliders in the oven and bake for 7 - 10 minutes until cheese is melted and the top of the buns are golden brown. Serve warm.
